It’s rare that you’ll hear a fraction of Casey McGrath's talent on the airwaves. Classical music may not be the most accessible of genres...
But it’s tracks such as McGrath's
that have the power to change just that.

Celebrated for her "sensitive and soulful interpretations" and a "tone reminiscent of the greats of the past" (Chronicle Musique) violinist Casey McGrath merges the worlds of classical and popular music into Fiddlerock!, a one-woman show where technical prowess infuses innovative, exciting, and moving original arrangements of the most timeless classics in rock and pop— all on four violin strings.
After over a decade as a concerto soloist and orchestral musician, Casey brings symphonic lyricism to her covers of Kansas and Sam Smith, the technical brilliance her favorite concertos to her arrangements of Metallica and Guns-n-Roses, and the harmonic heart of composers like Bach and Beethoven to her covers of Tool and Led Zeppelin. Violin, for Casey, has always been about connection, and Fiddlerock!— with its multi-genre repertoire, artistic versatility, and personable, accessible covers—brings not only audience and artist together, but people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. At a Fiddlerock! show, it's not just about the music—it's about your life.
Casey graduated from the Cincinnati Conservatory with her Master's of Music in violin performance and from the University of Illinois and Urbana-Champaign with her doctorate of musical arts in performance and literature. She has served as concertmaster, concerto soloist, chamber musician, section player, tango violinist, and as college music faculty before bringing her classical training to the Fiddlerock! project. She is also the author of Performance Anxiety Strategies: A Musician's Guide to Managing Stage Fright.
The Fiddlerock! Project is a collaboration between Casey and her partner, A.J. (sound technician, lighting design, marketing, and Fiddlerock!'s PR), with its first show in the fall of 2018.
A.J. Johnson is the manager and sound and light technician for Fiddlerock!, but he's also an experienced graphic designer and video editor, specializing in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation.
A graduate of Michigan State University, A.J. spent over a decade in sales, marketing, sales management, event planning, and design before adding Fiddlerock! to his active list of passion projects.
